This isn't cookie cutter portrait photography.
You can pay less, but you will get less.
This is an investment in capturing a time in your life or in the lives of your loved ones that you can be proud of, so that everyone who chances to look at your portraits will have a glimpse of your joy. The photographer at Lamplighter is an artist who knows that you, your investment, and this time you've chosen to share with him are worthy of respect and that handling them with the care they deserve is the only way to get the very best value out of them for you.
The Process
We'll book your session at least two weeks in advance, because good things take time. The photographer will consult with you via phone — as many times as necessary — about what you want from your portrait, as well as details like location, time, and what to wear. If you have a particular location you'd like to use, the photographer will make every effort to scout it and be fully prepared to take the best advantage of it. Every outdoor location is considered with careful attention to the quality of light available at different times of day and the character of the backdrops and vistas the site offers.
Once that's all settled, two copies of the contract will arrive via mail for your perusal. If everything meets your approval, sign one and send it back in the provided self-addressed and stamped envelope, along with an initial deposit of $50. Now, await your session with baited breath. When the time is right, everybody gets dressed up and smiles. After your session, the photographer spends the following two weeks selecting your best shots, processing them, and editing them to make sure your portraits are as close to perfect as can be. Once your online gallery is available, you may order as many or as few prints as you'd like from it. But please share it with friends and loved ones. You're going to want to bask in their praise.
Smile again. Now you're really happy :-)

Showcase Your Memories
In addition to traditional prints on fine Kodak photographic paper, Lamplighter offers several deluxe print products designed to enhance and preserve your portrait investment in admirably distinctive and eye-catching ways.

Gallery Wraps are great choice to showcase your portrait in a simply contemporary way. Your Gallery Wrap is printed on a premier-grade art canvas substrate and professionally wrapped around a 1½" thick wooden stretcher frame so that the edges of your image “bleed” around it.

Acrylic Prints bring your portrait to life with an almost three-dimensional effect. After your image is printed directly on a ¼" acrylic substrate, a layer of opaque white ink is screen printed on the back to create a work of art for your wall that highlights vibrant color and fine detail.

Metal Prints show off your portrait in an incomparable way. Your image is printed onto a coat of opaque white ink spread over brushed aluminum, lending your portrait applealing texture and a uniquely modern flair.

Metal Murals present your portrait as a contemporary work of art that will surely be the center of attention. Your image is split between four brushed aluminum tiles. Each Mural features silver snap rings, and brackets for easy assembly and wall mounting. Guaranteed to make a statement.
Traditional Prints
All prints are on Kodak Endura photographic papers which have a rated archival value of 100 years for typical home display and 200 years for dark storage. Frames are available in 16 different styles, with or without glass and with or without a black or white mat (in most sizes). Before framing, your print will be mounted on a backboard to give it extra support and to help preserve it over time. Frames are then individually mitered, stained, and assembled with extreme care. Your prints will arrive ready to display proudly in your home or office.
All printing, framing, and finishing services are performed by Mpix, a division of Miller's Professional Imaging, the largest professional photography lab in the United States.
